AHDRO’s mission is to provide homeless Collies and other family-friendly dogs a safe haven where they will receive medical care, nutrition, and love until an approved home is found. Upon intake into our program, each dog is examined by a veterinarian, and necessary treatment is administered, or a treatment plan is put into place. All AHDRO dogs are placed in the homes of approved volunteers until they are adopted into homes that have been carefully screened for placement.

4 Paws Sake, Inc. is a group of volunteer dog lovers whose mission is to rescue, provide sanctuary, and ultimately to re-home abandoned, stray and neglected dogs. We also assist dogs who, because of extenuating circumstances, are unable to remain in their homes with their owners. All dogs are housed in foster homes where they are provided with an enormous amount of love and any medical attention that may be required to insure that they are in good health before adoption. They are all spayed or neutered and brought up-to-date on shots before being placed in their new homes. All dogs are evaluated for temperament and personality. This helps us to place them in homes that are well-suited to their needs and to the needs of their future owners.

Spay and neuter education and low-cost clinics are crucial in addressing the overpopulation problem in our shelters and pounds. We believe no animal should spend its life on a chain. Nor should any animal be treated like a commodity, which is why we are against buying that 'cute little doggy in the window' at your local petstore. Please opt to adopt. We do not have a shelter. We operate solely from foster homes. MAWL has to turn away animals in need on a regular basis due to lack of foster homes. Please consider becoming a foster. We are 3 people who just love dogs! We believe that all dogs deserve a family, not a cage. Until there are laws that protect dogs better, and shut down the mills, we will be out there, saving as many as we can. From having to live a life that’s only purpose is trying to survive, being kept in cages with no human contact, no love, no grass to run and play in, no toys, being bred as often as they come into heat, or being destroyed when they are no longer useful because the puppy mill does not want to spend money feeding a dog who is useless. We buy the puppies that are going to be destroyed, are going to get sent to an auction, or are injured and/or ill. We take them in, get them healthy, and begin the process of teaching them how to live outside of the cage.

Our goal is to help rescue and find homes for homeless dogs and, in particular, the dogs once used in puppymills for breeding. We do not have a shelter, so all of our dogs are kept in experienced foster homes. Some of our animals are just learning how special the human touch can be, therefore, we work hard at socializing and loving them until they are ready to be adopted. It is our desire to match the perfect dog to the perfect new forever home. All of our dogs have been completely vetted. They are up-to-date on all shots, heartworm negative and on preventative when in season. All dogs have been spayed/neutered unless they are deemed too young by our vets. These dogs will be adopted on a spay/neuter contract.
