Its aim is to take in as many sick, distressed and unwanted animals as possible and restore them to health and happiness. The animals are kept on a 26 acre farm where they are neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and given any other medical assistance necessary. Dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and other small animals are then placed in secure and loving vetted homes. Horses, donkeys, cows, pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, ducks and geese spend their natural lives at Foal Farm. No healthy animal is ever destroyed, and if no home can be found the animal becomes a resident for the rest of its life. It currently operates in south-east London and north-west Kent, providing re-homing of unwanted and ill-treated animals in these regions, and has approximately 1000 members. The Charity is run entirely by volunteers who work for no payment, our only source of income is from the annual subscription that our members pay, and donations from the public. The rest of our funds are raised by our members through jumble sales, car boot sales, raffles and sponsored events. Therefore all funds are spent very carefully to provide the much needed help and care for as many animals as possible. The Charity has a number of members who foster animals in their own homes, which are cared for until a suitable, permanent home can be found where they can receive the love and care that they so rightly deserve. All prospective homes are subject to a home check and then a follow up visit is always made to check on the animals progress. We also help to look after many stray and feral cats in the area. Arrangements are also made for animals to be spayed or neutered to help control the population of unwanted pets. The Charity operates a non-destruction policy and offer Pet Bereavement Scheme. This is a telephone service where bereaved pet owners can find help, support and a sympathetic ear. Some of the hounds come into rescue in the most appalling condition whilst others are saved within hours of a certain death. All of these hounds will receive the same care from us until they are finally ready to be rehomed. There are thousands of hounds being destroyed every year, and not always humanely, after being discarded by the racing industry. This starts with the pups and young dogs who don't make the grade to race, the ones with medical problems that need veterinary care, the failed racers or those that turn their head on the track and finally the ones the trainers put to sleep as it's easier and cheaper than trying to rehome them. We receive absolutely no funding from the racing industry and have to fund raise every penny to help save the lives of the dogs in our care ourselves. We place very shut down and withdrawn dogs in their care and in a very short space of time, they are different dogs, full of fun and affection. Please do consider sponsoring a kennel. East Midlands Dog Rescue have been rescuing and rehoming abandoned and unwanted dogs and puppies for almost 20 years. The rescue centre and kennels are based in Enderby, Leicestershire, but we take dogs in from all over the East Midlands and beyond. Among the many breeds regularly looking for new homes are often retired Greyhounds and Lurchers. Most of the dogs are cared for in our kennels whilst we try to find loving new homes by appeals on our website and in local newspapers. Some of the dogs have been neglected or have suffered abuse and need sensitive handling. Others require prompt veterinary attention and operations. Fortunately, we have a dedicated team of foster mums and dads and we also receive excellent support from our vets and nursing staff. Together we are able to save many dogs and puppies that may not have been given a chance in life. On average we help over 200 dogs and puppies each year. We ensure all dogs placed with us are spayed/neutered to help prevent more unwanted litters of puppies. Advertising costs, food bills and vet fees are paid for by EMDR who hold weekly fundraising events. Fen Bank Greyhound Sanctuary, near Skegness in South Lincolnshire, was established in December, 1997 by Sandra Miller. The Sanctuary, which obtained independent registered charity status in 1998, was designed and built by Shaun Hooker and provides comfortable and spacious accommodation for 28 dogs. Each pair of dogs have a warm kennel, their own run, and in addition there are two large galloping paddocks for free exercise. All dogs are walked every day except Sunday and as far as possible they are treated like the pets they are destined to become. There are 14 permanent "guests" who can never be homed , and some of these are available for sponsoring. We take in Greyhounds of all ages from all over the United Kingdom. Fen Bank Greyhound Sanctuary homes dogs and takes them in from all over England. Some are cruelty cases, with dogs weighing half thier correct body weight, some with emotional scars and others very ill from neglect. There is fully supported homing and follow up programmes for every dog, including vetting procedures, 24 hour help line, and in the rare cases when a homing fails, dogs MUST come back to Fen Bank. A Fen Bank dog is a dog for life. All our dogs are neutered, innoculated, wormed, health checked and soon will be micro-chipped before being placed in a new home. We like to ensure that our Greyhound adoptions go smoothly for both new owner and dog. All dogs have had at least their first vaccination, are neutered (if old enough) and are, on most occassions, microchipped. If applying to rehome a puppy you will need to agree to neuter the dog at the appropriate age. Since 1995 we have helped and found homes for many dogs that have come our way, and now we have
set up Hillside Dog Rescue to place many more in loving, permanent homes.
To avoid further unnecessary breeding we will, of course, ensure that all dogs coming into our care will be
neutered; also vaccinated and microchipped, and we always carry out a home check. We have several
dogs in our care, including some strays rescued from death row in pounds from across the country.
One of our main aims in setting up Hillside Dog Rescue is to encourage
would-be dog owners to give a home to a rescued dog and not to support dog breeders by buying a puppy.
We will care for ALL our rescued dogs until we can find them a suitable home.

To feed and care for a rescued dog and provide all necessary veterinary treatments
(including neutering), costs an average of &#pound;300 before we can find a suitable home.
We therefore ask adopters for a minimum donation of &#pound;100 towards this expense.

CARE Dog Rescue is a small, family run, non-profit organisation, dedicated to the rescue and rehoming of dogs.
Located in Norfolk, we cover Norfolk, Suffolk and into northern Cambridge. We take in unwanted, abandoned or
abused dogs, pay for veterinary treatment and find new homes where the dog can continue its life in a kind,
loving environment. CARE also rehome all the strays found in the area.
CARE Dog Rescue have been operating for over 14 years and have found homes for over 1500 dogs.
Once accepted a dog remains with CARE until a suitable home is found.
To date no healthy dog has been put down.
If you want to go for one of the supposedly new "First Cross" dog breeds then think again.
These mixes are not new and with a little patience and looking around you can most likely find one in a
shelter waiting for a new home. The cost will be substantially lower!
CARE dogs needing homes
CARE rehomed 138 dogs in 2009. We feel great that we were able to help that many dogs find new homes.
In many cases with the stray dogs, they would have been destroyed as the local council will only pay for
7 days boarding to give the owner time to come forward and claim the dog, then without CARE the dogs would be put to sleep.
We have had some outstanding help in the last few years from a dedicated group of foster homes.
Without these wonderful people we could not do near as much as we do.

and that is how F.A.I.T.H. (For Animals In Trouble there's Hope) began.

Their specialty is 'problem animals', victims of physical or mental abuse, they are coaxed back to health, overcoming their behavioural distress, and restoring their dignity. Animals In Need/Maxicare Little Irchester, Northamptonshire Animals In Need is a rescue organization run solely by volunteers in the Northamptonshire area. Rehoming a dog is a carefully handled process – we need to make sure we find the right owner for the dog and the right dog for your home. We no longer allow visitors to just turn up at the kennels and walk around, as we find this unsettling and stressful for the dogs in our care. We ask that you view the dogs here on the website or view the kennel book kept in Reception to view which dogs are currently in kennels. Based on the dogs you then want to view, we ask a few questions to make sure your selected dogs would be suitable for your needs and lifestyle. You can then meet the dog in our kennel area and perhaps take them for a walk to see if you bond. If all is well then you can reserve a dog for £20 deposit pending the home check. If several people want the same dog then our kennel management team will visit all homes and decide based on the dogs needs who is best suited to care for them. All dogs leave Maxicare neutered, vaccinated, ID chipped , wormed and flea treated. A total donation of £150 per dog to cover costs is required. Everyone wanting to rescue a dog will need to receive a full home check and must also have a secure garden. PLEASE NOTE - we cannot rehome dogs to families with children under the age of 5. Bramcote Animal Rescue Bramcote, Nottingham The Bramcote Animal Rescue Centre located in the village of Bramcote near Nottingham has been rescuing abandoned animals for over 21 years. Many lost, unwanted, and poorly treated pets have found refuge and shelter at the centre and eventually loving new homes. Our rescue centre re homes all domestic pets including Dogs, Puppies, Cats, Kittens, Rabbits, Guinea-Pigs, Rodents and domestic Birds all with a non destruction policy. Click on the pink links for more information. Oxfordshire Animal Sanctuary Stadhampton, Oxon The Oxfordshire Animal Sanctuary rescues and rehomes over 500 animals in the Oxfordshire area every year. Since opening in 1967 we have managed to help over 25,000 animals. We continue to support Oxfordshires abandoned animals, helping more and more pets each year to find loving new homes. At present on site we have over 60 dogs, 90 cats and kittens plus a number of rabbits and guinea pigs. We also care for our permanent guests of goats, sheep, a horse and a little Shetland pony. We hold our ’non-destruction policy’ as a core principle for our work. This means that we will never put a healthy animal down and work to rehabilitate each rescue that comes through our gates. You are able to Sponsor some of our recue animals to support them during their stay at the Sanctuary. Click here to see our dogs needing homes. If you see one you think might be right for you come and visit us at the Sanctuary and speak to our staff about the animal you are looking for, they will be happy to help you in every way they can. Each of them knows about our animals history and can direct you to the most suitable pet. Once you have found the pet you think is the one, you must spend some time getting to know each other. You may need to visit the Sanctuary on a few occasions before you can take you new pet home. It is important that the match is right and everyone is happy with the decision. It is also important to bring other pets you may have to the Sanctuary to introduce them. A home visit will be conducted by one of our members of staff to ensure the environment is suitable for your new pet.
